Sigma Chi is a brotherhood with deep roots in the collegiate experience. It engenders a lifelong commitment to strive towards Friendship, Justice and Learning, the core values upon which the fraternity was founded. Our mission is to develop values-based leaders committed to excellence, and the betterment of character, campus and community.

Sigma Chis abide by these ideals through the practice of character qualities embodied in our Ritual, and continuously reaffirm our purpose through the observance of Sigma Chi’s Governing Laws and through adherence to the decisions of our legislative assemblies, which empower and direct our leadership.

Sigma Chi welcomes men of different temperaments, talents, and convictions, and prides itself on the diversity of its members, and the strength of its brotherhood.

With 242 undergraduate chapters and over 350,000 members, Sigma Chi is one of the largest fraternities, with the most number of undergraduate brothers attending university. The Gamma Tau chapter was founded in 1934 at North Dakota State University. It resides at 1250 12th Street North, just east of campus.
