Philanthropy

At Sigma Chi we strongly believe that an integral part of leadership is service to the community. In that light, we have a strong commitment to philanthropy as a chapter and as an international organization. This stretches back to our founding as several founders actively supported their communities. This includes Thomas Cowan Bell (County Superintendent), Daniel William Cooper (Pastor), and James Parks Caldwell (school teacher).

At an international level, Sigma Chi actively supports the Huntsman Cancer Institute, started by Brother Jon M. Huntsman Sr. to better understand and fight cancer. Cancer currently kills more than 1,500 people every day and approximately half of all men will contract the disease at some point. In total, Sigma Chi chapters have donated more than $3 million to the Huntsman Cancer Institute.

Volunteering

Emergency Food Pantry

We often volunteer as a chapter at our local food pantry, having fun and packing items up for those in need.
